Who's Tammy?

Hi! Welcome to my digital portfolio :) My name is Tamara Cliftina Frieson. I am an undergraduate student at Pace University in New York City, studying American Studies with a Critical Race and Ethnicity Studies Concentration, with a double minor in African American Studies and Journalism working to be my Bachelor of Arts degree. I am a Staff Writer with Pace University's collegiate newspaper, The Pace Press, and a member of the Pace University chapter of Her Campus, an online magazine targeted at the female college student demographic. I am a part of Pace's Black Student Union (BSU), a contributor to the literary and arts Aphros Magazine, and hold a senate position in the university's Student Government Association.

After I complete my undergraduate education, I plan to take a gap year before attending graduate school to get a master's in General Journalism and Communications and Media Studies. During my gap year, I plan to travel the world and explore different cultures, learning new ways to advocate for others. I dream of working for a significant fashion, arts, and entertainment Publication Company, being a part of or helping to develop their Department for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

In my free time, I enjoy painting, hiking, dancing, building Lego art pieces, listening to music, and reading a good book. To me, the five most essential things in life are Health, Family, Friends, Love, and having an intense Passion for what you do, whether it be school, work, art, or journalism writing for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

If I were to describe myself in three words, they would be outgoing, creative, and highly determined.

"What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have."
