Hi! Welcome to my digital portfolio :) My name is Tamara Cliftina Frieson. I am an undergraduate student at Pace University in New York City, double-majoring in English Language and Literature with a concentration in Literature, Culture, and Media and Film & Screen Studies, with a tripple-minor in Journalism & Digital Storytelling, Critical Race & Ethnicity Studies, and American Studies. I am a Staff Writer for Pace University's collegiate newspaper, The Pace Press, and a member of the Pace University chapter of Her Campus, an online magazine targeted at the female college student demographic. I am a part of Pace's Black Student Union (BSU), a contributor to the literary and arts Aphros Magazine, and, work as the Executive Vice President of the university's Student Government Association.
After I complete my undergraduate education, I plan to take a gap year before attending graduate school to get a master's in General Journalism and Communications and Media Studies. During my gap year, I plan to travel the world and explore different cultures, learning new ways to advocate for others. I dream of working for a significant fashion, arts, entertainment, and culture publication company, being a part of or helping to develop their Department for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In my free time, I enjoy painting, hiking, dancing, building Lego art pieces, listening to music, and reading a good book. To me, the five most essential things in life are health, family, friends, love, and having an intense passion for what you do, whether it be through school, work, art, or journalism.
If I were to describe myself in three ways, I would say that I am outgoing, creative, and highly determined.
